Alice, in white and blue

This is another photo spam,

because I really am happy with this doll.

Hubby said she has the nicest face,

and, as he's really not into dolls,

(despite the huge collection
 of Star Wars 'action figures')

I take his comment as a huge compliment.

Alice is wigged with suri alpaca hair,
a first for me,
and has a new design
for her hands and feet.

I love making dolls that
teach me something new,

and help me feel I really am
 learning, and getting better.

I'd like to thank you all
(and Hubby!)
for your support and encouragement.

I don't think I would have
made any progress at all
if it hadn't been for you wonderful people,
visiting and commenting.

Thank you!

Now shared with

  1. Oh, she is beautiful Rhissanna!

I love the realistic looking hair and the flowers you chose for both her hair band and dress...so pretty.

The last picture made me chuckle....she looks as though she's just come back from a damn good night out :)

    Have a lovely day :)

    1. Aww, thank you! I really have very little control over their faces. I really do paint them just to find out who they are!

  5. I love her pose in the last photo; she looks relaxed, but aware of her awesomeness at the same time. You have such a gift, Rhissanna.

    1. Relaxed as a lush! I tried to show how flexible/posable she was, but she looks a little sprawled up there. A bit too much of the 'Drink Me', perhaps?

      (and I'm blushing. Thank you!)

    1. Thank you very much! I'm glad you like her garland. I wanted to move away from the traditional alice-band but keep her hair the same Alice style. I've finally worked out how to keep the thing on her head so I'll make these again.

    1. Aww! You do say the nicest things! Thank you. I feel more confident about it, if that's the right word? I love it when a doll teaches me new techniques and ideas, then I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

    1. Thank you so much, Shashi! She all came together at once and I'm convinced dolls that are sweet to make have the nicest expressions! As for the paperclay, I'm handing out the oven-drying tip everywhere. And, if you don't like a sculpt, add a bit of water and leave it in a plastic bag and it turns into fresh clay again.

  13. She is lovely, Rhissanna! I like her straight hair! Your dolls start looking more and more real, you know what I mean? Face expression, skin color, and dresses! Your husband is right, this Alice has a lovely face!
