This And That

A flurry of work on the Steampunk Study hasn't left me with much time to pop in here.
However, I am making progress with Ms Leopard.
I'm not sure about the bright red hair, but I've drawn a face I like.
I hope this translates well to paint.
The  doll faces I paint are never like the ones I draw.

I'm also working on a commission,
to restore a 1930's lamp.
She must have been very beautiful, when new.

Have a lovely day.

  1. What wonderful treasures. Someone is very lucky to have that lamp!
Thanks for your comment. I can't say much for the changes to blogger, guess we don't have a choice when it's free. BUT...
would be nice to vote on something now and then. Hugs

    1. Yes, I'm going to be sorry when she's finished and gone.

I think it would help Blogger if they at least made us part of the process. After all, it's free for us but it makes them money. And I know people react badly to change. Sometimes that's just the Luddite in us, but not always. I hated the Yahoo email changes and now mainly use my Gmail.

  3. I a sure you will do a great job. Those lady lamps scare and confuse me. I always wondered about a light bulb under a ladies skirt??? I'm bad, sorry. Richard from My Old Historic House.

    1. Lol! You're very wicked, and very sweet, Richard. I'm going to give her a fitted underskirt so no one can put anything up there. I'd have thought these were a screaming fire risk, anyway, with an old-fashioned light bulb in. Do you ever see these Munzerlite-style lamps around? There's not really a lot of information on-line about them. Keep restoring those lovely wicker chairs.

  4. Your Ms Leopard is a fascinator. Love her expression. And the lamp is something which should, by rights, be restored--it's too good to waste. Lucky you! You get to be the one doing the restoration.

    1. I'm looking forward to it! The lamp's owner had some photos for reference and Miss Munzerlite clearly wore something mid-Victorian. She'll need a hat, too, as the poor thing doesn't really have much hair.

  5. I think your leopard is coming out great! I love the orange hair, it's perfect. Good luck with the lamp, too. I wouldn't know the first thing to do with it. I also like the picture with you and Bessie. Maybe I'll post a photo of my puppy lump.

    1. Thank you very much for saying so! The lamp will be ok as long as I think of it as a doll, and not a lamp. I'm just glad the client doesn't want it re-wired.

I'm hoping to paint Miss Leopard's face tomorrow, after I put up a bookcase, in the Steampunk Study.

Always happy to see pictures of a puppy lump!
