The story so far...
Marie is all assembled
and I've done all the soft sculpture
apart from her ears.
Her face is drawn
and she's mostly blushed.
I've cut out Marie's bloomers, but
I'm procrastinating about sewing them because
I chose to make them out of duchess satin.
Sometimes I don't make good choices.
The Story of Marie
Oh my! She is just coming along beautifully!
ReplyDeleteYou have done an amazing job on painting her eyes, and her skin tones with the blush looks great!
I will check back to see you progress..
blessings,
Penny
Thank you, Penny. Painting on the features is always exciting, as I'm sure you know. Worrying, too! But it's always wonderful how a doll comes to life as soon as you give it eyes. It's like a magic trick.
DeleteShe looks wonderful already! Love her pretty face. :) can't wait to see her progress...and good luck with the satin. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you think she's pretty! I can't get past how big her nose it!
DeleteThe bloomers are done! With French seams and elasticated legs! And the satin was an absolute cow to sew, but it looks so lovely, I forgive it.
WOW!!!!!! You truly are an artist that deserves all that is good to SHOW HOW MUCH your vision and skills are appreciated! My dear, lover of BUNNIES, thank you for coming to listen to the wise old rabbit tell his story to his listeners! teehee
ReplyDeleteHAVE FUN! Anita

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! As for the duchesse satin knickers, they're done and I love them, so I forgive them!
DeleteMarie is coming along famously! She has such a gorgeous face. Can't wait to see her all put together. You're amazing!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Thank you, Patti! Yes, this is the exciting stage because even I'm not sure what she'll look like when it's all done.
DeleteOMG those eyes are gorgeous, what an artist! I hate sewing with satin too! Can't wait to watch the rest of her journey!
ReplyDeleteYou are so observant that you noticed on my what sells list the teacups had made a return...They have, but, they have to be priced lower $8-10 where I used to get more.
Carol
Thank you, Carol. This was the first time I'd used pencils and pastels and I was really thrilled with how it came out. As for the satin, it was worth the struggle!
DeleteI wished you lived closer, I'd love to come and buy some tea cups at that price!
She is very beautiful:) I love how you made her face!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's the first time I've used so much shading on a cloth doll face and I'm really pleased with how 3 dimensional it looks.
DeleteYou are making wonderful progress. I am already in love with her and can't wait to see her finished
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shashi!
