New Doll Marie

I'm working on a couple of new dolls!

This is Marie,
on the Sookie body
(so she'll have
bewbies)
with a new head design.

She has sexy legs
and hands that can grasp.
No fingers.
I don't do cloth fingers.

She has eyes and a mouth.

She also has a nose with nostrils!

And a rather suspicious expression.

I'll have to fix that.

In between working on Marie
I'm trying to amend
this pattern I made for a little doll.

She still has funny feet and no arms
but the head and the body are ok.
Buggers to stuff, though.

  1. love what you are creating!
i have never done fingers on a cloth doll..i also have not done this kind of seamed head...it's on my list of "i wanna do someday" !!! i have a doll pattern with fingers and toes and separate lips and eyes...it is my way of inspiring myself to do more..it has sat for over 3 years!!!! really..i need to just go for it! i am a bit intimidated by it,but ..one day........!!!

    1. Thank you so much, Ann! The seamed head isn't too hard, no more complicated than sewing a gusset into an animal head. The thought of separate lips and eyes has me interested. When you sew it, please let me know?

  2. This is so cool, seeing your dolls, before they are completely finished! I like when you said, she has a suspicious expression! ;o) Can't wait to see them completed!

    1. Thank you! I have to admit it helps me to finish a doll if I write regular progress reports. Then I can see what I've done and the discipline of posting something means I have to have something to post. And I have lovely and supportive people like you, so I feel I'm not doing this all alone. I know that I love following other people's WIP, to see what people do and how they do it.

  3. hi, Rhissanna! (sorry, i think i was writing your name with one "s" before, so corrected my mistake)
interesting to see the process of doll making, as you shape up a new human alike toy.
yes, she definitely has some suspicious expression:) so cute.
i'm eager to see what kind of dolls you will finally make.
    have a great weekend!

    1. Don't worry about the name as it's completely made up. If you do see any other Rhissanna's on the Internet, it's either me, or a fake!

I love to see other people's works-in-progress, so I thought other people might like to see mine.
