Oh, I love ribbons!
Dear me, yes.
Like these ones.
I had an e-mail from Ginny
over at Polly's Paper Studio
to tell me I'd won
a coupon for
fifteen dollar's worth
of free ribbons and trimmings.
from
Oh WOW!
She told me it was valid until
the end of August 2013
but who could wait that long?
So, I made myself a nice, hot cup of tea
and sat down and shopped for ribbon.
and some reversible ribbon
in pink/green and blue/green.
And I am in their debt because
the pink and green ribbon was
exactly what I needed
to finish Ella.
It was just perfect for lacing up her bodice,
and adding the finishing touch
to her 18th century inspired panniers.
So thank you! to everyone over at
for their wonderful giveaway.
It came at just the right time.
(And now we won't be getting any
more protests from a certain doll
about her clothes. Finally)
You are very welcome: ) Looks like you had fun on your shopping spree. Great choices I must say. Her trims are wonderful and they finished off your beautiful doll perfectly. All the detail is just amazing...you are a talented artist girl : )
ReplyDeleteRegards....Ginny
Thank you, Ginny! I wouldn't have been able to do it without you1 And yes, I had a wonderful evening. the only problem was deciding what to buy. I'll be back for more, the seam binding is really lovely and I need (NEED) it in more colours.
DeleteLucky you...some lovely goodies there to play with. Ella turned out wonderfully and I love her dress. So pretty and perfect for her. You are so talented:)
ReplyDeleteOooh! Thank you, Mary Ann, that's really sweet of you! I feel relieved now she's done and yes, maybe it shouldn't have taken me two whole years to get her finished.
DeleteYou must be incredibly lucky! What a great thing to win. You must have had a lot of fun looking through those beautiful ribbons. And, Ella is really perfect, ribbons and all.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I did feel a little embarrassed that every post I was putting on my blog was about another giveaway I'd won! I'm not cheating, honest! I'm glad you like Ella. Now she's finished, I'm happy with her.
DeleteWhat a beautiful doll - you are a talented lady!
ReplyDelete*blushes* Oooh, thank you, Sharon! I don't know about that, it's taken me over 2 years to complete this doll!
DeleteElla is one gorgeous doll. Congratulations on winning all those pretty ribbons.
ReplyDeleteDee
Thank you so much, Dee. Yes, the ribbons turned up just in time!
DeleteThis is definitely your year for winning goodies...perhaps you should try the lottery :-) Wonderful job on Ella!
ReplyDeleteHeh! Now that's a wonderful idea, Sherry. Maybe I will!

I have to admit, I am astonished by those eyes you made. I'll have to give them a try! Thank you for your sweet comment!
DeleteWow lucky you for winning those lovely ribbons and your doll is beautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Shashi! It really means a lot hearing that from a dollmaker I admire. I'm blushing!
DeleteYour doll is gorgeous! The ribbons are quite lovely, congratulations!
ReplyDeletehugz
Thank you so much! I was thrilled to get those ribbons, I must say!
DeleteI am out visiting this morning and having a grand time here and over at your other blogs. I really must get better educated in steampunk...a bit of a change from cowboys and Indians. Ella is so lovely, and dressed so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mary. I love your sweet little Western dolls. They're not such a big step from Steampunk. Just give them some goggles and a pocket watch and you're done.
DeleteLucky, lucky you Rhissanna! What beautiful ribbons.
ReplyDeleteElla is exquisite!!! You have done a beautiful job.
fondly,
Penny
Thank you so much, Penny. Your sweet comment means a lot.
DeleteOh how I loved this doll when I saw her in your shop. Gorgeous my dear.....I so wish I had money! I wish everyone ELSE DID TOO!
ReplyDeleteYes, Chopin breaks my heart too. My daddy played his music, it reminds me of my ballet class and it Chopin was brilliant...tugging yet STILL at the heart strings of many of us.
Have a fabulous Sunday. Anita
Thank you so much, Anita! Yes, Chopin. Always brings back my ballet teacher (She walked with a cane and used it to point at our feet. She was scary and wonderful!)
DeleteI'm so glad you like little Ella. You know, even if I did have money, I'd still make the dolls.
(I'd just pay someone else to clean up the mess and sort out my craft boxes)
Thank you so much for visiting and your very kind words.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a joy to see you there.
Enjoy your evening. Penny
My pleasure, Penny. You know I always pop over to see what mischief you and Bebe have gotten up to.
DeleteSo pretty, Rhissanna! I share your love of ribbons...so much so that I am slowly learning to make ribbon flowers. How fun to see how you have beautifully used your winnings!! love, Rose
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Rose. And that's very sweet of you!
DeleteDear me, yes. I wish you luck with the ribbon roses! I am trying, but so far the glued ones just look sticky and the sewn ones just look like granny knots...
I have a small collection of ribbon too. I always buy and think, I could use it somehow. Your doll turned out very nice. Her dress is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brandi! Yes, better to have the ribbon when you want it, than to want the ribbon and not have it!
