Remember back in February,
when I started making Claudia
for Holly's Horrorland
She's finally completed!
(and sold!)
Here is a walkthrough
of her WIP stages.
Head sculpt in paper clay.
Rough face-up
(yes, that's the correct term!)
and wig try-out.
I didn't go with the fluffy blonde
but instead chose a
washed-out peachy pink.
Face painted and sealed.
Paperclay hands.
Drawers with vintage point de paris ruffles
and red kid leather shoes.
She's lying on her petticoat,
trimmed in my favourite cotton lace.
Claudia's doll WIP.
I dressed her as a Marie Antoinette
as a nod to Kirsten Dunst,
because she played both roles.
WIP coffin, with pillows from
and
Claudia's chemise.
Claudia's printed coffin pillow.
The little red shoes
with ruffled rosettes.
Antique lace on the bodice.
The skull brooch.
Pretty little skulls
all in a row.
Eyelets for corset-style lacing.
Skully.
This is a companion skull;
sculpted, painted and sealed.
The finished coffin,
with pillow and frills.
Claudia and her skull.
Claudia and Marie.
Friends for ever!
(Which is actually possible, if you're a vampire)
And now
The winner of the
giveaway!
Dorothy, Toto and
the poppy cushion.
I listed all the names
and used a
Random Number Generator
to pick out a winner.
Randomly.
The Winner is...
The Magician Of Oz himself!
(James C Wallace II)
So, congratulations
to the
Magician of Oz!
In two weeks
I have a
Blogoversary
and will be arranging another
giveaway!
Yay!
Oh my! ❤ Claudia is a masterpiece... right down to her lovely coffin pillow and companion skull!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to James, the lucky Oz winner!
Thank you so much! I had such a wonderful time making her, sometimes dolls just demand to be made!
DeleteAnd yes, Dorothy is going to Oz. Now, where can I get a tame tornado?
Great Dolls, Rhissa. Really Impressive. The colors are really impressive
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr N! I was worried she looked too washed out, so I'm very happy to hear the colours are ok. I wanted a change from the usual black and red associated with vampires. Why shouldn't they look pretty?
DeleteYou create such magnificent dolls! Congrats to that lucky lucky winner! Magical over here.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne! I'm so glad you like my dolls!
DeleteOh wow, she looks amazing! Can we talk about maybe buying her?
ReplyDeleteIm glad you like her, Laura! Unfortunately, she's already sold to a collector. I had so many people interested in Claudia I've started on another sleeping vampire. Pictures soon! (soon as I've finished the commissioned two-headed doll)
DeleteCongratulations James!
ReplyDeleteYour artistry is beautiful, delicate and classic! Amazing Art indeed!
xoDebi

DeleteRhissanna, I must say that this doll impressed me! I see you had great inspiration.. She is a little scary in her forever sleep, but I adore her dress and skull embellishments.. and that little doll which she took with her to the coffin...

ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Jennifer! I did rather indulge myself with Claudia, finding little things to add.
DeleteEvery time I think I have seen your best you prove me wrong... I admire your work so much... She is just stunning! I love everything about her.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite part of your dolls are their faces... Beautiful work!
blessings,
Penny
Aww, thank you, Penny! That's the nicest thing you could possibly say. I'm so glad you like her, and her sleeping face.
DeleteI meant every word Rhissanna.. Your work is exquisite!
DeleteThank you so much for the very kind note you left for me.
I am happy you enjoyed her.
I know I already spoke of her beauty and super stylish way, on Facebook, but I don't mind saying it again: she is perfect! And I love her skully.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to James!
Thank you so much, Magaly! Without the little skull necklace you sent me, Claudia wouldn't have had all her little skull embellishments and wouldn't have looked half as exotic. So, thank you for making her possible!
DeleteOh that was HILARIOUS, your drumroll effect! ahahahah...what a MOST LUCKY WINNER! Oh Rhissanna, your work is so stunning, you know i love your dolls! And down to her toes, with those lovely stocking legs and incredible shoes! Fabulous work my friend, and thank you for coming to leave me a comment. You and I both would love to be that young rider in that flowing dress, on the back of our steed taking us AWAY!
ReplyDeleteBe well and happy day, Anita
Thank you, Anita! I'm so glad you like my Claudia and I had such fun making her, with those little red shoes. And I'm delighted to know you understand about the picture!
DeleteLove the little details on her. Great job
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Shashi! It's been fun to push the boundaries a little with a doll like this.
DeleteOh! 'Well, bust my britches!' as the Wizard himself would say! I am so happy for James C. Wallace II for winning Dorothy, Toto, and the poppy cushion. Yay!
