Doll with no name

 Usually they have a name,
but this one,
I don't know.

Melissa?
Laura?

She's a bit of a dreamer,
sat up there in my peach tree.

Wandering around the garden.

Posing in the breeze.

And generally staring into space.
A real daydreamer.
Lucky girl!

Here she is, being made,
still with curly hair.

Did you know you can
straighten Tibetan lambswool
with a hair straightener?
Me neither, until I tried.

And here is her dupion silk frock
before the paper roses are added.

Gentle reader,
as you've come this far
pop on over to the previous post and

There's a doll in it for you!

    1. Thank you so much, Penny! Your support means a lot to me. The two braids and the blue eyes would suit a name like Greta, wouldn't they? What a lovely suggestion, thank you.

    1. Thank you so much! I did wonder if the blue was too strong when I first painted them, but I'm glad I went with it now.

    1. Aww, thank you! You're very kind. Everyone seems taken with her blue eyes. I was worried they were too bright when I first painted them, but now I'm really glad I kept them that way.

  6. Good morning Rhissanna! This is another masterpiece of a doll. Many of your artists out there achieve a "spirit" to your creations with emotion, details that bring forth those sentiments, not to mention the wonderful materials you use in making them! It feels strange to speak of "materials" here, for when I see a creation as such, it's almost as if this (doll) is a little girl...a breathing child. Her name? VIOLET! TIFFANY, PEARL....oh dear, too many possibilities!

Thank you so much for coming by to visit. Art is breathing for us humans, isn't it? Happy day! Anita

  9. She is a beautiful mysterious daydreamer ;o) Maybe she is not meant to have a name. Maybe the home she goes to, is meant to name her ;o) Big Hugs ;o)
