Aliénore's Birthday Party and Giveaway.

 Aliénore's Birthday party
and the
Mysterious Parcels

A play in three acts
performed by
the Doll Company.

Act one; The Party Table
Here we are, to celebrate,
we have to hurry, don't want to wait.
It's time for cake, don't be late!

Here we sit, for a birthday tea
there's enough for Aliénore, you and me
Look at the clock, it's  half past three!

Act 2: The Exotic Packages
Oh my goodness what do I see?
Little round packages  One. Two. Three
Oh, whatever can they be?

Now they're in the fancy tea pot.
And pour on water, nice and hot.
Oh! Of course! Tea's what we've got!

But stranger tea you never saw.
The Dollies all watched it with quiet awe
For a moment it looked like a bundle of straw.

And then, like a plant in a sweet rain-shower
the tea opened up, just like a flower.
Pretty enough for a lady's bower.

  Act 3 The Finale

And the dolls all agreed, the tea was charming
even though, at first, it had looked alarming.
The tea was ready; time to be pouring!

Flowering tea, so pretty and sweet
in the shape of a basket, isn't it neat?

That's enough gawking, it's time to eat!

Join up with Aliénore's birthday celebrations

To celebrate such an auspicious occasion,
I'm giving away
a sweet little flowering teabag
(which really does make real tea!)
and a box full of other surprise goodies.
Vintage lace. Wee bunnies
A tiny doll. Little interesting things.
Consider it my Blogoversary treat.

  1. Oh this is absolutely ADORABLE!!! My dear friend Teresa over at Magical Whimsey alerted me of this fine party! I was at work all day long. OOOOO THANK YOU for visiting my blog today! YOU ARE BRITISH? Oh how I dream of visiting The Cotswolds! And you are building your husband a 19th study???? FABULOUS! My husband and I have created our little niche of a French style cottage/castle!!!

Well my dear, clotted cream and scones and Indian tea sound just lovely. Let's take a detour into the Lake District!!!

    Much happiness! Anita

    1. That was sweet of Teresa! I must pop over and see what she posted for today. I so glad you like my dolls' little play. I had a wonderful afternoon, icing a fairy cake and making Chinese flowering tea and playing with my dolls. Sometimes I love being a grown up!
Lake District? Yes please. Stop for fish and chips on the coast and them to Kendall and the chocolate shop!

A petit chateau? How lovely! Isn't it nice being able to do what we want with our homes? How dull for people who think their house has to be the same as everybody elses!

    1. You're on Blogger, right? Let me see... copy the address of this page, http://rhissanna.blogspot.com/2012/05/alienores-birthday-party.html and go back to your blog.
Open up an new post and give it a title. Write whatever you want to write about the giveaway in the post; whose blog it is and what the prize is (a bag of goodies). Highlight the word you want to be the link and go to the word 'Link" at the top of the page you're writing on(It's right beside the 'insert image' tool for adding pictures). When you open the 'link' tool, the word you highlighted will be written in the top space and you just paste in the link you copied from here, into the space underneath. Hit 'ok' and you're done! I hope that made sense!

If you want to add a picture too, you just right-click on one, add it to your computer and do it the same way you do your own photos.

And thank you for joining my first giveaway!

    1. Thank you for opening the Linky account to follow me! That's really sweet of you!

The 'follow' button doesn't seem to come up at the top of the screen anymore. Maybe it's part of the changes to Blogger everyone is so thrilled about?*sigh* Or another Blogger hiccup? Either way, I really appreciate your joining my first every giveaway!

    1. The girl with the wild hair has been very patient, as she has sat in her bloomers and nothing else for two years now...I really ought to finish her. I'm glad you like her! She got to be the star because I could pose her arms with pins.(No dolls were harmed in the making of this tableau! I pinkie swear!))

  12. How lovely. I bought my mother a glass teacup and diffuser and some flowering tea for mother's day. I just went with which were prettiest, any tips for which you prefer the taste of?

Oh, and just so you know, I feel like I need to borrow a kid so I can have a tea party with my dolls now!

    1. Thank you, Miss Magpie. I have to admit I don't know which flavour is which. The tea I brewed smelled floral and delicious, but it wasn't jasmine (which I love)

I was a little embarrassed at the lack of doll's tea things. Lots of dolls. I even have chairs, but no dolls' tea set. I'll have to fix that.

  13. Wonderful Fun Party the girls are having. The Flower Tea looks yummy. I could hear them all talking while they sat around the tea pot watching the Flower Tea brew. They were amazed at how odd but beautiful the Flower tea opened up and turned to Yummy tea. :-) Enjoyed listening to them talk. What fun they are having. :-)
Great give away. I love anything vintage and other things. Giveaways are fun. I hear all my dolls talking in the background. They want to know why their Mama never has a tea party for them. They said, Mama has little tea sets but she never brings them out for us. Maybe we should get them out and make Mama tea and we will have a Tea Party for her. LOL LOL!!
Great Give Away You Are Have.
