Ribbons.

Oh, I love ribbons!
Dear me, yes.
Like these ones.

I had an e-mail from Ginny
to tell me I'd won
a coupon for
fifteen dollar's worth
of free ribbons and trimmings.
from

Oh WOW!

She told me it was valid until
the end of August 2013
but who could wait that long?

So, I made myself a nice, hot cup of tea
and sat down and shopped for ribbon.

and some reversible ribbon

And I am in their debt because
the pink and green ribbon was
exactly what I needed
to finish Ella.

It was just perfect for lacing up her bodice,

and adding the finishing touch
to her 18th century inspired panniers.

So thank you! to everyone over at
for their wonderful giveaway.

It came at just the right time.

(And now we won't be getting any
more protests from a certain doll
about her clothes. Finally)

    1. I have to admit, I did feel a little embarrassed that every post I was putting on my blog was about another giveaway I'd won! I'm not cheating, honest! I'm glad you like Ella. Now she's finished, I'm happy with her.

  10. I am out visiting this morning and having a grand time here and over at your other blogs. I really must get better educated in steampunk...a bit of a change from cowboys and Indians. Ella is so lovely, and dressed so beautifully.

    1. Thank you so much, Mary. I love your sweet little Western dolls. They're not such a big step from Steampunk. Just give them some goggles and a pocket watch and you're done.

  12. Oh how I loved this doll when I saw her in your shop. Gorgeous my dear.....I so wish I had money! I wish everyone ELSE DID TOO!

Yes, Chopin breaks my heart too. My daddy played his music, it reminds me of my ballet class and it Chopin was brilliant...tugging yet STILL at the heart strings of many of us.

    Have a fabulous Sunday. Anita

    1. Thank you so much, Anita! Yes, Chopin. Always brings back my ballet teacher (She walked with a cane and used it to point at our feet. She was scary and wonderful!)

I'm so glad you like little Ella. You know, even if I did have money, I'd still make the dolls.
(I'd just pay someone else to clean up the mess and sort out my craft boxes)

Dear me, yes. I wish you luck with the ribbon roses! I am trying, but so far the glued ones just look sticky and the sewn ones just look like granny knots...

  15. I have a small collection of ribbon too. I always buy and think, I could use it somehow. Your doll turned out very nice. Her dress is gorgeous.

  16. Thank you, Brandi! Yes, better to have the ribbon when you want it, than to want the ribbon and not have it!
